Faggione re-elected Majority Leader of Legislature

Goshen, NY - The Republican Caucus of the Orange County Legislature has unanimously selected Thomas Faggione majority leader for 2024.

Faggione has served in this capacity since 2022. Under Leader Faggione, the Legislature has maintained a sound fiscal approach to the county budget, reducing taxation by $4 million over the past two years.

Faggione Opposes Dangerous Bail Reform

December 10, 2019 - Cuddebackville, NY - Orange County Legislator Thomas Faggione is co-sponsoring a resolution imploring New York State to amend and delay the new bail and discovery reform laws. The resolution is on the agenda for Wednesday’s meeting of the Rules, Enactments, and Intergovernmental Relations Committee of the Orange County Legislature.

The new bail and discovery laws, which go into effect January 1, 2020, eliminate bail for many criminal charges, including crimes that result in the deaths of innocent people, including several subcategories of homicide and manslaughter.

New York By Rail visits Port Jervis

November 14, 2019 - Port Jervis, NY - On a near perfect fall day, Orange County Legislator Tom Faggione and Orange County Tourism Director Amanda Dana welcomed Andrew Frey, reporter from New York By Trail to meet in Port Jervis.

New York by Trail is the official Amtrak® travel guide offering rail riders detailed source of information on places to visit and things to do in the northeast. The trio was joined by Orange County Tourism Coordinator Stephanie Kistner and Port Jervis Director of Parks and Recreation John Faggione. Faggione Supports School Bus Safety Law

October 23, 2019 - Goshen, NY - At the October 23rd meeting of the Orange County Legislative Rules Commmitee, Thomas Faggione, Chairman of the committee, guided passage of a local law to install stop-arm cameras on Orange County school buses. The cameras will be used to catch drivers illegally passing stopped buses.

Faggione says NO to State License Plate Plan

September 13, 2019 - Cuddebackville, NY - Orange County Legislator Thomas Faggione is standing with fellow legislators against New York State’s plan to impose a mandatory replacement of vehicle license plates. Faggione is co-sponsoring a resolution with Legislator Joseph Minuta opposing Governor Cuomo's proposed regulations requiring new license plates and fees.

Legislator Faggione commented, “Once again the politicians in Albany continue to find ways to pry more money out of your pockets. Enough is enough.”

Legislature to approve Five Year CSEA Contract

February 22, 2019 - Goshen, NY - The Orange County Legislature's Personnel and Compensation Committee has voted to approve the Civil Service Employees' Association (CSEA) new five-year contract.  The contract will go to a final vote of the entire legislature at the March 7th session.

PJ Police Chief Worden named to Advisory Board

February 21, 2019 - Goshen, NY - The Orange County Legislature's Public Safety and Emergency Services Committee will meet today to re-confirm William Worden, Jennifer Gottstine, and Brendan Casey to the Orange County Police Advisory Board.

Faggione Secures $40,000 for Playground in Deerpark

February 6, 2019 - Goshen, NY - Orange County Legislator Thomas Faggione has secured $40,000 for playground equipment in the Town of Deerpark.    The funding is the result of a litigation settlement with no impact to county or municipal taxation.  The new outdoor equipment will be installed at Harriet Space Park in Huguenot.  This project marks another step forward in the enhancements of the popular park.

“Harriet Space Park is the perfect example of what we can accomplish when the community and government collaborate,” Legislator Faggione said.  “The county owns this property, the Town of Deerpark diligently maintains the grounds, and community groups and organizations have contributed countless hours into making this park a true Field of Dreams.”
