Orange County Rules Committee August 2020 Meeting News and Notes

August 17, 2020 - The Rules Committee of the Orange County Legislature will meet, Wednesday, August 19th, 3:30pm. Due to COVID-19, this meeting will be held via videoconference. The public is welcome to watch live. Link for video can be found HERE>

The Rules committee will consider the following.

Board of Elections voting booths and related equipment

  • The Rules Committee, with a majority vote, will finalize the 2006 Board of Elections voting machine and election day supply project by accepting $133,707.07 in state funding.

Middletown Multimodal Transportation Center Building Project

  • The committee will vote on accepting $2.59 million from the New York State Department of Transportation Modernization and Enchancement for construction costs at the Middletown Multimodal Transportation Center.

2020 Census

  • The committee will hear from Orange County Planning Department with an update on the 2020 Census. In addition, the committee will vote to accept $216,991.00 in state grant funds to assist the Census 2020 Complete Count Project.

Celebrating U.S. Constitution Week, September 17 - 23

  • Rules Committee Chairman Thomas Faggione is sponsoring a resolution proclaiming Constitution Week from September 17th - September 23rd. 2020 marks the 233 anniversary of the U.S. Constitution

At the concluion of the Rules meeting there will be a special joint meeting of Rules and the Committee on Education and Economic Development.

  • Review of inclusion properties in the Agricultural Districts 1 and 2 of Orange County

  • Review

  • SEQRA

  • Eight Year Review

  • Annual Review
