Healthy Orange Program receives $90,000 in funding
December 13, 2019 - Cuddebackville, NY - Orange County Legislator Thomas Faggione is proud to co-sponsor a resolution that secures $90,000 in funding for the Healthy Orange Schools and Community Program.
Healthy Orange Schools and Community Program is an initiative through the Orange County Department of Health that addresses three simple, but vital issues of improved nutrition, increased physical activity and movement, and a tobacco-free lifestyle to improve the overall health of Orange County residents.
The resolution was on the agenda of the Orange County Legislative Rules Committee Wednesday. It passed with unanimous tri-partisan support. This funding continues on a five year program of providing our communities with programming, equipment and support staff to improve the overall health of our residents. The resolution will be voted on by the entire Orange County Legislature at the December 19th legislative session.
