May 24, 2022 - Goshen, NY - The County is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its second of four sets of hazardous waste collection events in 2022 in the City of Port Jervis.
FOR SCHOOL DISTRICTS - FARMS - MUNCIPALITIES -
The first event will take place on Friday, June 10th, at Orange County Transfer Station #3 located at 86 Tow Path Road ONLY for school districts, farms, municipalities and businesses who have PRE-REGISTERED by no later than June 3rd.
FOR RESIDENTS of ORANGE COUNTY ONLY
The event on Saturday, June 11th, will take place from 9 AM until 3 PM, at Port Jervis High School Lower Parking Lot, located at 10 Route 209, for residents with a valid ID showing County residency. No registration is required for the Saturday event for residents, however, ONLY HOUSEHOLD QUANTITIES will be accepted.
In addition, latex, acrylic and water based paints will now be accepted at Orange County hazardous materials collection events through a partnership with PaintCare, a new paint stewardship program established by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
The June 11th event is free for Orange County residents with proof of residency (driver’s license or utility bill with Orange County address) and will be held at the lower parking lot of Port Jervis High School, which is located at 10 Route 209. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand to collect unwanted over the counter and prescription medication. Businesses, schools, farms and municipalities must register for the June 10th event and may not attend the June 11th collection event.
