Legislature Announced Leadership for 2024

January 16, 2024 - GOSHEN, NY – The Orange County Legislature held its annual Re-Organizational meeting January 4, 2024, and unanimously re-elected Katie Bonelli, Chairwoman of the law making body.

Bonelli is in her fourth term in the legislature. She has served as Chairwoman since 2021.

It was also announced that both party leaders have been re-elected. Republican Thomas Faggione will serve as majority leader and Democrat Michael Paduch as minority leader.

The Orange County Legislature has eight statutory committees that meet once a month to debate and discuss county issues. Chairwoman Bonelli has selected the following legislators to serves as committee chairs.

  • Barry Cheney - Physical Services

  • Peter Tuohy - Health and Mental Health

  • Janet Sutherland - Human Services

  • Rob Sassi - Personnel and Compensation

  • Joseph Minuta - Education and Economic Development
