Area Seniors receive over $2,000 in Farmer’s Market Coupons
October 12, 2021 - Port Jervis, NY - Big thanks to the Orange County Office for the Aging for all the help with the 2021 Senior Coupon Book Program. This program provides $20 in coupons for seniors to use at area Farmer's Markets to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.
A quick review of 2021 shows the following impact in our community.
- 105 Area seniors received coupon books
- 525 Coupons were issued
- $2100 in coupons were issued to purchase fresh vegetables and fruit at the farmer's market
I was very happy to assist in getting these coupon books into the hands of area seniors. Throughout the summer, we made these booklets available at a variety of events and locations, including:
- The Port Jervis Farmer's Market
- Hillside Terrace
- Water's Edge
- Machackemach Village
- Town of Deerpark Senior Center
- Orange County's D&H Canal Park, Cuddebackville, NY
- Port Jervis' Orange Square Park
- Fall Foliage Festival, Port Jervis
