Orange County Seeks Public Input on Long Range Transportation Plan

November 12, 2019, Goshen, NY - The Orange County Transportation Council has been working on the Long Range Transportation Plan to address the future of transportation needs in our county. The public has been invited to review and make recommendations.

Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) contains an assessment of the county’s current transportation system, looks ahead to the future, and presents strategies for meeting the county’s transportation needs over the next 25 years. This Plan is required by the Federal government to be updated every four years as a condition for receiving federal funding.

On November 19, 2019 the Orange County Transportation Council (OCTC) Policy Committee will take action regarding the 2019 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). The LRTP is required to be updated every four years according to federal transportation regulations. The current LRTP was last updated in 2015 with a minor revision in 2017. In addition, as part of the plan update process, OCTC is required to update its air quality conformity determination for fine particulate matter and the Poughkeepsie Ozone non-attainment area.

These actions will be available for public review from October 18, 2019 through November 16, 2019. Written comments, questions, or requests for assistance should be directed to OCTC staff at the Orange County Planning Department using the contact information below.
