Faggione earns appointment to state-wide governance group
January 27, 2020 - Albany, NY - Orange County Legislator Thomas J. Faggione has been appointed to the Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs and General Government at the 2020 New York State Association of Counties Legislative Conference. The appointment was made by John F. Marren, President NYSAC.
NYSAC's mission is to represent, educate, advocate for, and serve New York's counties and the thousands of elected and appointed county officials who serve the public. Legislator Faggione looks forward to serving on the standing committee on intergovernmental affairs. “My focus in county government has been on my constituents, commonsense, the Constitution, and the law. I look forward to bringing that approach to a state-wide level and making New York the Empire State once again”, said Faggione.
At the 2020 Legislative Conference, the Intergovernmental Committee took up the following resolutions:
Veterans Issues - Urging Governor Cuomo and the state government to make additional funding for veterans services and making discharge papers, DD-214, available at the county level via county veteran services agencies
Restore funding to county boards of elections related to new state laws regarding early voting
Allocating funding and state resources related to the 2020 Census
Supporting home-schooled students to participate in district interscholastic sports
